Zhenhua Washers in Marine and Offshore: Deck Machinery, Hull and Pipework Mapping

In the marine environment, high chloride concentration, continuous humidity, wave-impact vibration and galvanic corrosion from dissimilar metal contact are each sufficient to cause failure on their own - and offshore equipment typically faces all three at once. Here is the part-by-part product configuration.

Application location and product mapping

Deck machinery and windlasses  →  DIN 25201 Wedge Lock Washers

Windlasses, winches and lifting equipment operate under strong continuous vibration while directly exposed to sea mist. A4 wedge lock washers solve two problems at once: structural locking and chloride corrosion. This is the single most worthwhile location to invest in on offshore equipment.

Hull structure and interior fixing  →  DIN 6798A / DIN 6798J Tooth Lock

Hull structure involves high bolt counts. Tooth lock washers provide mechanical locking and electrical continuity. Shaft retaining washers provide axial location for shaft-type components with a push-on installation requiring no turning, suited to space-constrained interior structures.

Pipe flanges  →  DIN 6796 Belleville Washers / Screw Cup Washers

Pipe start-up and shutdown create temperature change, so flange connections need elastic compensation. Belleville washers maintain preload and compensate pipe thermal expansion, reducing the risk of flange leakage from preload decay.

Pipe supports and equipment bases  →  Raised-Point Anti-Slip Flat Washers

Offshore equipment has high grounding continuity requirements. Contact washers penetrate the oxide layer to establish a stable low-impedance grounding point; raised-point anti-slip washers are used at equipment bases requiring positional grip.

Marine custom stamped parts  →  Custom Stamped Parts

Custom brackets, connecting plates and clips for onboard use, produced to drawing in A4 material.

Material note

For locations in direct seawater contact or under permanent sea mist we recommend A4 (316). Dry interior areas can use A2 (304) or Dacromet carbon steel.
